Our Team

Jo Clifton, who joined the In Fact staff in November of 1998 when the publication was still a weekly. She became editor and publisher in mid-2000. Over the past 30 years, she has worked as a reporter, lawyer and judge. She has worked for the El Paso Times, the Austin American-Statesman and the Texas Observer, among others. Mark Richardson is a veteran journalist with 25 years of experience in both print and broadcast media. He has worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Austin, Temple, Corpus Christi and Las Vegas, as well as the Associated Press. He has also served as a reporter, anchor and assignments editor in radio and television newsrooms in Austin, Temple, and Houston. Mark covers City Council, various boards and commissions and environmental issues, and serves as copy editor. He is a journalism graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. Kimberly Reeves began her career in journalism in Houston with the story of Thirteen Coins, a topless club that opened a stone's throw away from Spring Woods High School. The community outrage led to the state's sexually oriented business ordinance. Little did Kimberly know, 20 years later, she would still be covering zoning—as well as numerous other issues—for In Fact Daily. After a brief stint as a high school journalism teacher in South Texas, Kimberly has written for newspapers and magazines in Austin, Houston and Dallas, primarily on business, real estate, technology and education. Journalist Ken Martin founded In Fact in 1995 as a weekly. Four years later, Martin decided to expand the publication to five days a week. Ken continues his editorial work as editor of The Good Life Magazine.

Bill McCann is a freelance writer and editor with more than 40 years of communications experience. He retired in 2007 from the Lower Colorado River Authority, where he was manager of corporate communications. Previously, he held writing positions at the Austin Business Journal and Austin American-Statesman and was a science writer at the Cleveland (Ohio) Plain Dealer, and Science News Service in Washington, D.C. He covered a variety of major stories on science, energy and the environment, including the Apollo moon launches. His work has received awards from such diverse organizations as the International Association of Business Communicators, Keep Texas Beautiful, the Sierra Club, and the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce.
