Our Team
Jo Clifton, who joined the In
Fact staff in November of 1998 when the publication was still a
weekly. She became editor and publisher in mid-2000. Over the past
30 years, she has worked as a reporter, lawyer and judge. She has
worked for the El Paso Times, the Austin American-Statesman and
the Texas Observer, among others. Her email is editormail@infactdaily.com.
Steven Pickering is an award-winning
but self-effacing radio newsman with a sly sense of humor and the
endless patience required to wait outside of crime scenes or cover
Planning Commission hearings. Pickering is originally from Duncanville,
Texas. He graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree
in Radio, Television, and Film. A life-long Texas resident, Steven
has worked for several radio stations and as a freelance contributor
for two newspapers. He covers meetings of the City Council and various
boards and commissions, while keeping an eye on other events, such
as elections for In Fact Daily. You may email him at steve@infactdaily.com.
Mark Richardson is a veteran journalist
with 25 years of experience in both print and broadcast media. He
has worked as a reporter and editor for newspapers in Austin, Temple,
Corpus Christi and Las Vegas, as well as the Associated Press. He
has also served as a reporter, anchor and assignments editor in
radio and television newsrooms in Austin, Temple, and Houston. Mark
covers City Council, various boards and commissions and environmental
issues, and serves as copy editor. He is a journalism graduate of
the University of Texas at Austin. You may email him at mark@infactdaily.com.
Kimberly Reeves began her career
in journalism in Houston with the story of Thirteen Coins, a topless
club that opened a stone's throw away from Spring Woods High School.
The community outrage led to the state's sexually oriented business
ordinance. Little did Kimberly know, 20 years later, she would still
be covering zoning—as well as numerous other issues—for
In Fact Daily. After a brief stint as a high school journalism teacher
in South Texas, Kimberly has written for newspapers and magazines
in Austin, Houston and Dallas, primarily on business, real estate,
technology and education. She also has worked in television in the
Austin and Dallas markets as an assignment editor. You can reach
her at kimberley@infactdaily.com.
Kate Harrington is a native New
Englander who graduated from Colby College in 2000 and received
Master's of Journalism from UT Austin in 2004. She worked for two
years with the Free Press in Hays County covering Kyle and Buda
before deciding on a freelance career. She covers Hays County politics
for In Fact Daily and Hays County business for the Austin Business
Journal. You may email her at kate@infactdaily.com.
Business Manager Pam Fridrich
keeps the wheels on the machine. She handles subscriptions and puts
together In Fact Weekly, the compilation of the daily for those
who don’t have the inclination to read the publication online.

Journalist Ken Martin founded
In Fact in 1995 as a weekly. Four years later, Martin decided to
expand the publication to five days a week. Ken continues his editorial
